The following moderated (low volume / bi-weekly) dental mailing list is
available from periodont@krypta.snafu.de.
Description and subscription information follow. Enjoy!
The list provides an opportunity for practitioners and researchers to
share ideas and opinions in order to provide better periodontal therapy.
The list is distributed bi-weekly. All contributions are moderated for
articles which are rich in content rather than only short
messages or off-topic comments. The main issue of the list is to
effectively communicate new information to all dentists
interested in periodontology. It contains diagnostic and therapeutic
information, non commercial information about new products,
reports of international congresses, drug information, and discussions
about various other periodontal topics. Questions from
patients are not included to keep the discussions on a professional
level.
Now there are 245 subscribers from all over the world!
The following topics are an example of the list's scope:
- Giving information for all dentists which are interested in
periodontology.
- The quality should determine the quantity (that's why bi-weekly
distribution and moderating)
- Contributions should be rich in content. Further instructions to
authors are available via E-Mail request.
- The list is a place for publications of young scientists who want to
share ideas and results with other Practitioners.
- Experiences with new periodontal techniques, materials and devices
which are made at universities or other places are published by this way.
- Every subscriber should inform the others about visited congresses.
- Announcement of conferences and workshops.
The mailing list is presented for all being directly involved with patient
periodontal care --- dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants,
dental students, etc. This list is not open to the general public!
Heiko Spallek, a periodontologist in
Berlin at Humboldt-University (Charite), is responsible for the list. His speciality is
