In the heart of the North Pennine English Countryside near the market town of Barnard Castle and the village of Cotherstone on the border of Yorkshire and Durham

East Briscoe Farm lies 2 miles outside Teesdale village of Cotherstone in a beautiful, rural, south facing position. Cotherstone is a delightful village situated where the River Balder joins the River Tees 4 miles from Barnard Castle. It is a thriving village with a general store and two pubs one of which serves meals.

The farmhouse and adjoining barns have been converted to form seven splendid cottages one of which is occupied by the proprietors Ann and Peter Wilson. Constructed entirely of local sandstone, the buildings retain many original features typical of the farms of the North Pennines, with some open fireplaces, beamed ceilings and original stonework.

The cottages have accommodation of a high quality heated by adjustable electric storage heating with supplementary gas fires. There is a large garden area and ample parking space. Visitors are free to wander over the 13 acres of adjoining fields, woods and riverside. There is approximately 1/4 mile of free trout fishing for guests on the River Balder. Pets (2 maximum in each cottage) are welcome, provided dogs are kept on a lead at all times outside the cottages.

Lying within easy reach of the whole of the North of England, East Briscoe makes an ideal base from which to walk, cycle or tour this beautiful region. At the farm there are cattle, hens and sheep, abundant wild life, ample garden space to sit and relax in. A large conservatory, a barbecue, and mountain bikes are available free for guests use.

All on ground floor level. The cottage is very popular with couples both young and not so young! Accessibility rating 3 - suited to people who can manage a step.. The sitting room can take a folding bed or futon if guests wish to sleep separately	Converted from a grain store the cottage has unusually high ceilings and is probably the most immediately attractive of our cottages. Ground floor: good size kitchen, separate dining room with beamed ceiling, sitting room with beamed ceiling and open staircase. It is possible to put 2 folding beds downstairs for occasional use.	A splendid ground floor cottage with 2 bedrooms. Accessibility rating 2 - suited to people in a wheel chair who have assistance. The twin bed room has a third bed available	Our largest cottage but with generously sized rooms. The bedrooms can each take an additional folding bed..
